The place and the bedding were good. A bit old‑fashioned: tapestries peeling, shower cabin in poor condition, windows in bad shape, no bedside lamp on one of the two nightstands… damp smells. No 24‑hour reception, no view of the Colosseum—only two rooms in the hotel have that privilege! Breakfast wasn’t included, the restaurant’s price was exorbitant, no elevator, and the rooms were on the second floor.

Excellent view and location.

The spot is right across the Colosseum, and the hotel offers a restaurant and a terrace bar surrounded by plenty of other eateries. The room was spacious and spotless.

The location is great, and the room had a view. The restaurant serves amazing food and the terrace bar is a treat. The staff were very friendly, lovely, and helpful, even letting me leave my bags while I went sightseeing. It’s a fabulous place—A*—and I’d line up to return for a longer stay. The only downside was that once I headed for the Royal Art cafe, it was just about it!
