The staff were very pleasant, the bar and restaurant were extremely cheerful, the evening meal was good and the breakfast was nice.

We went to meet friends for a meal which was very nice. I didn’t think the room was up to the price paid; my wife suffered the whole day after we left with back pain.

Very comfortable, with a pool and sauna; the food was excellent.

The location is perfect for visiting the sites in the National park and Hadrian's Wall l. The hotel retains its charm. The staff are all exceptional, genuinely friendly and always ready to help. They are clearly committed to their work, including the young members of staff. The food was delicious, with lots of variety, consistently to the same high standard. It is a real shame that the swimming pool is not more easily accessible; the vertical ladder access made it impossible for me to use.
