“WAARDELOOS”
The only positive was the good beachside location, yet the overall experience was a huge letdown. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone who values hygiene, service, comfort, or a normal night’s sleep. The room was small, dirty, and poorly maintained; upon arrival a strong sewage smell hit us and flies were everywhere. The floor still had hair from previous guests, and the walls and tiles bore dirty stains. The cleaning staff seemed to do only half the job and left the room barely clean. The most bizarre thing was finding a dirty, used cleaning sponge in the sink after we returned. How can they “clean” a room and then leave a used sponge in the bathroom? The beds were terrible—mattresses were so worn that you could feel the springs poking through, making sleep impossible. After a day of activities, you just want to relax, but that was impossible here. The bathroom was a disaster: the showerhead was worn out, and during a shower the cabin flooded to ankle level, then water leaked under the shower into the entire bathroom, flooding the floor. This is unacceptable for a hotel that charges so much. The so‑called hospitality was also lacking; after a long, hot trip I asked for a glass of water at reception, and the receptionist told me to buy it at the bar. Seriously? A tired guest arriving after a hot journey being denied a simple glass of water because the staff want money? That alone says a lot about the service. Even during breakfast and dinner you practically get nothing to drink.
