“Hotel mal, laguna excelente”
The place looks nice just because it’s on the lagoon and the staff are kind, helping as far as they can. Unfortunately the rooms were dirty, the bathroom and shower were clogged, and we had no water for two nights in my boyfriend’s room; the complimentary pillows were filthy. Staff were only available from 9 am to 7 pm, and after that there was nobody. Other guests were noisy all night in the opposite room, so we couldn’t sleep at all during the two nights we stayed.
I liked that it’s on the lagoon’s edge and the service and cleaning were very good. The cabin I booked is a bit uncomfortable, and the bathroom is at the head of the bed.

The place is pretty and well‑located, but the power outage lasted for hours and no solution was offered; the staff only said they didn't know when power would return and gave me an email to file a complaint. While we couldn't leave the room or sleep for safety reasons—because the electric door would open if left closed—heat and mosquitoes were unbearable. We filed a refund request through Booking and were met with fallacious excuses. We had to move to another hotel because we were uncertain if power would come back and the hotel gave no estimated time. A hotel that experiences this common issue should have a backup generator, like many others. They even mentioned the power went out in the area, yet neighboring hotels had generators because they are prepared. If they had cooperated, they would have understood our position and issued a full or partial refund. Guests should enjoy their stay, not live in uncertainty. Also, the toilet’s location is awful—behind the headboard of the bed, very uncomfortable.
The lagoon is great. The room felt dirty, there was no TV, the door unlocks by itself when a fly triggers the sensor, the bathroom emits a strong odor that could use a fragrance, and the shower has no pressure.
