“Not good to place stay one of the staff hitesh is polite and helpful but the guy who is in night”
Not a good place to stay; one staff member, Hitesh, is polite and helpful, but the night‑shift guy is pathetic and offers no help at all. Good for nothing, only in night shift just to sleep, I guess.
“Bad stay”
I had posted an earlier review, and the owner replied with false statements; I couldn’t edit my original review to add details, so I’m replying here. Every single word the owner wrote about my third day is a lie. I explicitly told I would come the next day for the third‑day booking confirmation, and as required by policy I wasn’t even required to tell you since I could cancel for free until the day of visit. Still, I came back one day before to say I would continue, which you denied citing a double reservation you made. You didn’t even wait for me to return and asked for money for the third day as soon as I landed, again not honoring policy. The only reason I stayed at your hotel was because my daughter is on a wheelchair and Shimla has limited wheelchair‑accessible hotels, so please don’t give the impression that your property was amazing, which is why I wanted to stay. Also, check other reviews; many complaints about the same behavior from the owner—doing double bookings, making false statements, and canceling reservations at the last moment even when people have confirmed bookings from portals. I even suggested an alternative property, Woodsville Palace, which is much better in every sense at the same tariff. I honestly wanted to call the owner to say thanks to him; only because of him we could at least have one peaceful day in a serene property with professional people. The only thing that upset me was the owner spoiling my birthday, the reason why I visited Shimla. Every other place I’ve visited earlier had hotel staff trying to make my day more special, contrary to my experience here. I leave it to people’s judgment to book this property. My only suggestion is to check reviews and decide for yourself who is making false claims here.
“I would choose the stay over and over again”
What I loved most about the day was the care the hotel people gave to guests. The rooms are quite spacious and indeed special. The views, the garden, the quiet neighbourhood—a beautiful combination indeed. Also, since the property has limited rooms, it’s quiet and kept in very good condition; I couldn’t have chosen a better stay. Possibly, the food could be a little better, but everything else is absolutely fantastic, especially the garden and the lawn in the morning—so quiet, so calm, so peaceful, and clean.
Pathetic.
“BEWARE//OWNER DOES DOUBLE BOOKING - GREEDY GUY. NOT PEACEFUL AT ALL.”
The owner is doing malpractice; he’s a greedy guy who does double booking and doesn’t honor portal bookings and cancellation policies. He charges a token upfront before the stay starts even when he offers free cancellation until the date of visit. He takes bookings from portals and then treats guests according to his own terms and conditions. I was a female accompanied by all females, with a special‑needs child on a wheelchair. We had a three‑day stay (the third day was a separate booking considering a tentative plan). For the last day he asked for money immediately on arrival, which I told would be refunded in a day after discussion with my family, as allowed by free cancellation. To my surprise he did double booking even when I had confirmed the third day. He didn’t even think to check once, as I mentioned I would come back by the next day. Shimla has limited wheelchair‑accessible places, and I spent my birthday arguing with the owner and searching for another place. To my luck and blessing in disguise, I found a beautiful property nearby, away from traffic—much better and had a good buffet breakfast included at the same tariff. I would definitely suggest people check Hotel Woodsville Palace Shimla; it’s a palace run by empathic professional people. It had beautiful lawns, good buffet breakfast, privacy, and peace—contrary to Springfield, where peace and privacy were completely lacking. They have a very small garden contrary to the pics in portals, and all the noise of people chatting comes into the room. Both days I woke up early because of loud chit‑chat from people in the garden. Mine were the best rooms overlooking the garden; other rooms were cramped with no views. Service was good and the team was making all efforts, but all those efforts went in vain with a greedy and zero‑empathy owner who didn’t even think twice while doing double booking, taking tokens from other people, and asking all of us females with a wheelchair kid to check out even after the confirmed booking.
