“リゾート地にも関わらずホスピタリティは?”
When the hotel first opened I stayed there and, despite being almost 30 years old, the building was well maintained and comfortable; the beach was just a short walk away and you could even stroll around in a swimsuit, which was handy. Housekeeping kept the room tidy while I was out, and the staff were attentive, greeting me in the hallway, which felt very pleasant. However, front desk and bell staff were overwhelmed during the summer holidays and their service fell short – I was told to call for a restaurant reservation but never got an answer, and when I finally reached the bell desk they snapped back saying they’d call me later, which was unpleasant. Having to repeat my membership number every time was tedious, and I wondered why it couldn’t be checked online, making discounts and points feel irrelevant. The restaurant menu stayed almost the same, getting boring, and the tongs for serving food were awkward, slowing everyone down; there were too few toasters, causing queues and leaving some guests without toast. In the morning, the coffee service was messy – kids had spilled coffee, so cups couldn’t be set properly, which should have been monitored. Breakfast was served too quickly to enjoy it slowly. Overall the physical side was good, but the soft side needs work; staff often looked downcast, and for a resort the hospitality felt lacking, which was disappointing given my fond memories from when it first opened. Still, I think it’s a decent hotel overall.
