The room was beautiful and the staff friendly, though traffic noise was noticeable but didn’t bother me.

The place is great—prime spot, super friendly staff, and the landlord even set up an early breakfast for us, which he didn’t have to. I’d have given a 10, but there was no hot water. Also Google Maps listed the distance from Cromwell Lakes as “as the crow flies” instead of indicating you’d need to go around the River Trent.

Thanks to Richard and the whole crew at The Lord Nelson Inn; the rooms were spotless, comfy, and had everything we needed. The evening meal was beautifully cooked and delicious, breakfast was fab, and everyone was friendly and helpful. The pub is lovely and the photos don’t do it justice. We can’t wait to return.
