“Best camp site I have ever seen”
I landed in Kibuye and first grabbed lunch with Jean‑Paul, the campsite owner, then headed to a local market to stock up on food for dinner and the next morning’s breakfast. After that, we enjoyed a stunning boat ride across Lake Kivu to the quiet, isolated spot where the campsite sits. The site boasts a lovely garden with mango trees, eucalyptus, and even coffee plants. Two staff members helped us carry our luggage and assisted with meal prep. The tent I slept in was very cozy, and the whole place felt calm and well cared for. The peaceful vibe and the breathtaking view over Lake Kivu are what make this spot special. In the evening you can watch fishermen on the water, and in the morning you’re greeted by birds and the sounds of nature. I’d definitely recommend this campsite to anyone visiting Rwanda. I only stayed one night, but next time I’d love to extend my stay.
