I cannot speak highly enough of Stars Hostel! I had already checked out and left town when my important car REGO sticker was delivered to the hostel. I was really worried I would lose it. The front desk staff patiently located my mail, and kindly took the extra time to go to the NZ post and send it to me. This was such amazing, thoughtful help beyond their normal duties. The hostel itself is clean, the atmosphere is nice, and the staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. I would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to everyone!
The room was comfortable and the location was very good, but there were few seats in the dining area.
This hostel in Auckland is the best and totally worth every cent.
I had a great stay at Stars Hostel! The room was tidy, the facilities practical, and the whole place felt safe and quiet. The staff were welcoming and easy to talk to. It was good value for money and ideal for travelers. I enjoyed my time here and would book again.
It’s one of the cheaper options, so you get what you pay for and it’s totally fine for that. The beds had curtains, which is always a plus and makes a big difference. It was really hot during the day if you didn’t leave the door open, but then it got freezing at night. There was a shared bathroom/toilet on level 5 and honestly it wasn’t great. Men were using the women’s showers and toilets too, so it got pretty dirty and I mostly avoided using it. The bathroom on the 1st floor was fine though, and you even had your own little cabins which was nice. Mostly Chinese people and people who actually work/live there, so it wasn’t really a social hostel and there wasn’t much talking or meeting people. But for the price you pay, it’s honestly totally reasonable. It was pretty quiet, there were a few shops around and the bus station wasn’t far, so the location was pretty good.
