The surroundings were lovely, though a bit remote, and the lodge itself was very spacious. The constant noise from the hot tub trying to maintain temperature ruined sleep, and there was no washing‑up bowl or sink plug, so the dishwasher ran on almost no pots. The kitchen window hadn’t been cleaned in weeks, and it was unpleasant to look out of. Two sets of curtains needed new hooks or rings because they were missing, causing big gaps in the drapes. The only staff we saw was a man cutting grass; he was kind and told us which lodge we were staying in.
