Checking in was smooth and I even received a room upgrade, which was a pleasant surprise. The hotel’s location and its original historic features are exactly what I was hoping for. However, the overall look feels worn out; the carpet in the room looked old and used, and a musty odor lingered. The lighting was poor, the furnishings appeared dated, and the bathroom was cramped for a king‑size room with no space for a vanity bag. In short, the property needs a facelift, though its grand old‑world style remains beautiful and uncommon. Dining service was also sluggish and inattentive.
