The staff were very rude.

There’s a wide variety of restaurants, bars, and pools. The buffet food made some of us sick one day. The staff at the gyros van refused to serve my son, which was very rude. Management met me to say sorry, but I would have expected some compensation, like a late checkout.

The view from the hotel was stunning, but the overall experience fell flat. The staff behaved politely at first, yet any extra request was met with irritation and condescension. On day two I started vomiting and diarrhea—probably from the food—and the doctor refused to enter our room, forcing us to visit his office. My boyfriend went first, and when he mentioned my similar symptoms, the doctor simply extended the treatment to me as well. He charged us €170 for the “two” visits and medications, a completely disproportionate fee, and the receipt only listed “medical service” with no details or diagnostic certificate. We asked for a one‑hour late check‑out because of our flight, paid €20, and when the extra hour expired the staff immediately called our room to see if we had left. The buffet was bland and repetitive. Crows on the terrace attacked plates left by guests, and the staff seemed indifferent. Reserving a table at the restaurant was a hassle; the clerk dismissed us and told us to use an app, which felt bureaucratic. When we asked the Italian restaurant to add us to a waiting list, the next day we received unsolicited reservations for the Greek and Mexican restaurants. The Greek staff explained that we had to rotate to a different à la carte restaurant each week—a made‑up excuse to get rid of us. The pools were cold and murky, the sunbeds dirty, and on the beach the loungers were covered in bird droppings.

The hotel was clean, not crowded, and the service was good, but the open buffet was limited. Every meal featured a chicken grill, with no beef offered at all. A‑la‑carte restaurants were not available for booking during our stay, and the alcoholic and non‑alcoholic drinks were all cheap brands with poor taste.

Mitsis Blue Domes exceeded my expectations—I had moved from a local hotel because of problems there, and Blue Domes accepted my booking on the same day. The bungalow with garden view was huge, with large beds and excellent air‑con. The bath had a shower and a separate shower cubicle, and the room was stocked daily with a mini‑bar, teas, coffees, a beach bag, and large beach towels that were changed each day. The resort was beautiful, with plenty of food and drink spots, including a‑la‑carte. As a party of two, we managed to book three a‑la‑carte restaurants for a five‑day stay on short notice. All buffet meals were fresh, tasty, and of good quality; there was no duplication that you see at other resorts, which I actually liked. We had steaks, fresh salads, plenty of chicken, breads, and traditional Greek dishes like beef stifado and gyros. It was my birthday on the first day, and the restaurant staff—at my 13‑year‑old’s request—brought me a cake and sang Happy Birthday, a lovely surprise. There is a health bar with smoothies and salads, a crepe and waffle bar with ice cream and other desserts, and Gyros at the beach and burgers and chips by the pool bar. Everything was beautiful and quick. I have high expectations of hotels, and Blue Domes tops all the Greek hotels I’ve stayed at for the last eight years. The only downside was that, as a fat person, the steps and walking were a struggle; it became tedious to go up and down for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, so we used other food places around the resort to avoid the full buffet three times a day.
