The Outback Hotel, Yulara, is ideally situated near Uluru, Ayers Rock. It features an on-site restaurant, Bough House Restaurant, and offers free WiFi. Rooms have air-conditioning, heating, tea/coffee making facilities, and en-suite bathrooms. The hotel provides barbecue facilities, free airport transfers from Ayers Rock Airport, and is a 10-minute walk from the main Ayers Rock Resort complex, shops, and visitor centre.

The buffet breakfast was good. I hadn’t booked it when I first made the reservation, but when I arrived and asked, the staff told me that booking it now would cost much less than just walking into the restaurant, so I booked it at the front desk upon arrival.

Having a pool in such hot weather was nice, and the airport and city shuttle buses were convenient; tourist companies also pick you up for tours right in front of the hotel. The room was comfortable and spacious. However, it’s very expensive even without breakfast, and at check‑in the staff didn’t inform me about any free activities. They charge a ridiculous amount for a bottle of water, and the staff weren’t particularly friendly or welcoming; they don’t look happy to work there.

The room was an average standard hotel room: clean, tidy, and the beds were comfortable. The pool and food were quite basic.
