“she was renting a house that she did not own”
It was a scam. This was a fraudulent listing; her other two listings should be removed and the police should be called.

Nothing. I humbly request my refund; I slept on 29 and 30 June and left because the place is creepy, untidy, wrong address, false advert. I went on 5 July to drop the keys and get my deposit. Please refund.

There was no such property; it was a scam. I traveled to the location, found the address, and it was not a stay. I took the name of the person staying there and wrote to Bookings to complain and ask for a refund. I cannot recommend this property and I would make sure you check and file a complaint if you have the same experience. This destroys the integrity of online booking if such scams are allowed to persist. It was a real service; I would be able to comment. The response to my complaint was pathetic, as was the response for reimbursement.

The location. The constant curfew and inability to get in.
