“Excellent”
The view is insane, the spot is peaceful, the staff are very kind and helpful, the rooms are simple, clean and comfortable, the mango juices are exceptional, and the meals are very good. A kayak or felouq tour is a must, and immersion on this car‑free island guarantees a change of scenery.
“Thoroughly enjoyable stay”
Sitting on the lower verandah outside, right on the Nile bank overlooking the Botanic Gardens Island & Aga Khan’s tomb on the desert hill across the river, the view is great. The Nubian food is excellent, and there’s an opportunity to learn about Nubian culture. The staff were very helpful.
“Belle immersion sur l Île Éléphantine”
The location is ideal—on the Nile’s calm side. We wake to birdsong, and the owner Ahmed picks us up at the quay and takes us on his boat. We had a good Nubian breakfast on the Nile View Guest House terrace. Ahmed also organized a chauffeur‑led day trip to nearby sights, which was perfect. The only small gripe: only one small towel per person for the shower.

We especially liked the hotel’s riverside location on the Nile and the hospitality of Ahmed and Mohamed, who arranged a three‑hour boat ride for us. We swam in the Nile, did canoe‑kayak at sunset, and the meals were excellent. We loved our stay on Elephantine Island.
We stayed here twice and enjoyed it very much both times! The owner is lovely, responsive and helpful with any questions. The breakfast was also very good
