The proximity to the train museum and, more broadly, to JR for getting anywhere in Kyoto is great. The beds feel the springs.

I had stayed here before, and I remember there used to be no cleaning fee.

Pets are welcome, but the cleaning left something to be desired.

The place felt a little stylish, and I could bring my dog. The floor was wipe‑clean, so it was a relief (my pup didn't make a mess). I might be mistaken, but the exterior photo showed a single‑family house, the sign said “no dogs on the 2nd floor,” and it was listed as “2500 yen per dog,” so I thought I was renting the whole building; only the 2nd floor was available. I paid for the 2nd floor and brought the dog anyway, using a guard to keep the futon clean. The bathroom was dirty. No lotion was provided. Toothbrush, shampoo, conditioner, dryer, and detergent were available. I wanted a towel in the toilet. The kitchen lacked a cutting board, and there was no paper towel or kitchen paper, so I used tissue. Five people stayed, but there were only four sets of dishes. The mattress had springs that were visible when I pressed my foot, but a blanket covered it, so it wasn’t painful, just a bit uncomfortable.

The bath was spotless, but I couldn't figure out how to turn on the lights.
