“Ideal stop off to start the NC500”

Getting there was a breeze and the spot is ideal for city centre exploration, with free parking nearby and a very polite, friendly welcome. However, I noticed a map that suggested walking routes around the city; the northern path I tried went through a rather shoddy estate, whereas the southern route was lovely, so I’d recommend heading south from the hotel instead of north, which isn’t the nicest area to stroll.

The location is great and the value for money is solid, though the only downside is that the building has stairs, something I was aware of when I booked.

“Cosy stay by the river”

A snug room in a charming house on a quiet residential street beside the riverside path, just a 10‑minute walk from the city centre and train/bus station, with a pleasant stroll along the river; Jason was very friendly and helpful throughout, and though the room was small, it was adequate for one person.

“Nice location”

The spot is well‑situated, but the room wasn’t cleaned properly after the previous guests, the remote and TV had issues, the lounge fridge could only hold a couple of drinks and wasn’t cold, the coffee maker didn’t work right, and sometimes there was no warm water at the bathroom sink.
