The Danseys Pass Hotel

The hotel and its staff are outstanding. We enjoyed a wonderful stay and felt quite sad to leave after just two nights. The property is old, and that’s what makes it special. The owners and staff are friendly and warm, making you feel like you’re staying with friends. I can’t wait to return. It’s a very special place.

“A romantic lodge in a beautiful location”

The room and bathroom were lovely, very charming, with a very comfy bed and a warm, self‑adjustable atmosphere. The lounge area boasts a gorgeous large fireplace. The surroundings are beautiful; I recommend driving to the pass for the stunning views on the other side. The dining room felt lacking in charm, perhaps because of renovations; it looked like a temporary wall. I remembered the lounge/common area from 20 years ago, which I didn’t find this time—maybe the sofas are all facing the fire? The staff seemed uninformed about their beers (local or not? pilsener vs hazy IPA, taps seemed swapped) and wines. The meal presentation could be better for the price.

Spotlessly clean, the staff were very friendly, and the lounge/bar was perfect with a beautiful open fire.

“The staff made us feel like we were old friends. The staff were interactive and friendly.”

It felt authentic and old‑school, warm inside while snow fell outside. Its history is wonderfully preserved.

The dinner was amazing, and the barman was ready to serve right when the hotel opened at 3 pm, with the fire roaring at the same time.
