Gethin, the Manager, was excellent, and the whole team at Fiordland Lodge delivered great service. The lodge itself is stunning, and the scenery stretches for miles around the property. The food was superb—thanks to Gethin and everyone on the team.
“Amazing infrastructure but service could be better”
The infrastructure is amazing with elegant architecture blended into a beautiful landscape visible from the hall and all rooms, making it perfect for anyone who wants to relax after a trip to Milford Sound without returning to Queenstown. The dinner was enjoyable with high‑quality ingredients. However, the value for money was poor; we stayed during Christmas, paid over €1k for our room, and felt no attention from the staff. No one helped us with luggage before check‑in, and the manager seemed to ignore us. The dinner service was unprofessional with several mistakes, and breakfast offered very limited options—no buffet and no pastries. They also do not accept Amex, even though the bill was high. The hotel is beautiful, but it feels like a bad value for the money spent.

We had a short but very pleasant stay at the chalet. The service was excellent—thank you! We would have liked to stay longer, but it was fully booked.

The location and staff were good, but the lodge had just been sold and urgently needs a renovation.
The location was great, the hot tubs were a highlight, and the staff were friendly. The breakfast was good, but the overall quality‑price ratio was disappointing.
