Genna and Martin were wonderful hosts, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Genna has a great sense of humour and serves an excellent full English breakfast. The location is beautiful, peaceful, and surrounded by wildlife, which was a pleasure to watch while walking the grounds. The chalet itself was spacious, comfortable, and very well equipped. The only minor point to note is that access to the property requires a fairly wide turn from the road when approaching from Edmondbyers, which may require briefly crossing into the opposite lane. This was not an issue during our summer visit, but it could be more challenging during the darker winter months or in poor weather conditions. It may be worth considering whether any improvements to the access road could be made in the future.

The breakfast was great and the area feels peaceful and picturesque; I’ll come back for sure. Nothing else to mention.

The owner is warm and friendly, always ready to help and chat; the countryside vibe is lovely, and two pubs are just a short walk away.
