The location is the best part of the property. Via Ottaviano 105, practically a two‑minute walk from the Vatican Museums. The self‑check‑in method with various codes to open different doors didn’t pose a problem for me, but could be an issue for slightly older guests or those less tech‑savvy. I understand this choice because guests over time have lost countless keys, increasing costs for the managers. My stay was work‑oriented, so I left early in the morning, returned late in the afternoon, and then went out for dinner again; sleeping and having a clean, great bathroom in the room was all I needed. The small lounge and kitchen use in the room, which I didn’t use, are also important aspects. I recommend this place and will return in the future. P.S. The free Wi‑Fi works very well and I also had a TV in the room with all digital channels. The only slightly annoying thing was the noise from neighbors on the floor above a couple of evenings in the late afternoon, but I let it go because they didn’t disturb my sleep. The owners can’t do anything about rude people, but they were very helpful on the phone for a few of my requests, which were resolved, so I recommend the property.

We stayed in a spot I’d say was perfect, almost inside the Ottoviano metro station, so getting anywhere was a breeze. The room was spotless and tidied daily. Getting in was easy thanks to the clear instructions. If I come to Rome again, I’ll probably stay here again. On the downside, other guests in the building made a lot of noise and didn’t bother to keep it down; they woke us up early in the morning and late at night. There was no sound from the hallway or elsewhere during our sleep hours, so I think Ottoviano Smart Rooms should warn guests about noise before they check in.

The room was very comfortable and clean, and the location was ideal—everything was close, just two steps from the metro and the Basilica of St. Peter, which was great for traveling with kids. The staff were very helpful and polite, and everything was handled online without any hiccups. A big plus was that we could check out and leave our luggage in storage for a few more hours. I highly recommend it!
