“Gorgeous homes with incredible views but still in need of some work”

The view is fabulous, and the houses are gorgeous with high‑quality construction. The large bedrooms are comfortable, featuring lovely stone flooring and woodwork, and the setting is very secluded with an amazing sea vista. The host gave a friendly welcome. However, the room layout could use more thought to better enjoy the views, and a bench or outdoor seating area would be nice for a drink. The pictures didn’t match the room’s description of decking and tables. It’s a bit out of the way with difficult parking, but I managed with my AWD (4WD wasn’t needed). Only one other room was available while the rest were closed off and not well maintained at the time. Building work was happening during our stay (not noisy), and I’m sure it will look amazing once finished.

The view is amazing, but it’s inconvenient to have to drive up and down the hills.

“Stunning off-the-beaten track lodge overlooking Golden Bay”

The location is stunning and quiet, overlooking Golden Bay. The rooms are spacious, clean, and private, making it a perfect place to unwind surrounded by nature near Wharariki Beach. The hosts are very friendly and helpful.

“Stunning views over Golden Bay”

The view over Golden Bay was breathtaking, and the location was just right for exploring Cape Farewell. The cabin was roomy and comfortable, featuring a lovely veranda and a garden. I’m especially thankful to Alissa, who was friendly, helpful, and managed to light the fireplace.
