“Schönes Zimmer in ruhiger Umgebung”
We had a very nice and large room. A big garden was part of the property and could be used freely, with pleasant seating areas. The room had a kettle for tea and coffee, and a good breakfast was served in the hosts’ living room. The bathroom was large and, like everything else, very clean. The toilet is 2 m outside the room, in a small passage to the hosts’ apartment, but it is absolutely private and only used by us. It’s a bit unusual but fine for us. The garden isn’t perfectly tidy; there are many gardening tools and stuff around. I liked that everything is very friendly. You get a little immersed in the local life (see also breakfast, where you can naturally talk with the hosts and get good tips). The area is very quiet, right on the Seine and very close to Roche La Guyon (definitely worth a visit!). Giverny/Vernon isn’t far, but it’s a bit harder to reach by bike than expected because it’s very hilly.
