I visited in July 2026 during the low season, and we were the only guests at the hotel. The feeling of being in an abandoned place was strong. Breakfast was not offered as a buffet at that time, which is a shame because it seemed to be of good quality. The staff were very friendly and the lodgings were comfortable. However, the “basic” lodges had not been refurbished and are very dark, like a trapper’s cabin. The facilities are aging and would benefit from a good refresh.

The resort is surrounded by nature and you can feed the cute animals they keep there. Other activities include massages and bike rentals. My room was spacious, and the staff were very friendly. I’d suggest renting a car, because without one it was tricky; the hotel could arrange a taxi quickly or you could pre‑order a Grab, but finding an available driver in the area can take a long time. The resort could use some renovation, but it’s still comfortable enough.

Nice spot, good pool, tasty restaurant. It’s a bit remote and very quiet; on the first day we were the only guests.

We had an amazing stay at The Legacy River Kwai Resort. The surroundings are peaceful and beautiful, making it the perfect place to relax and unwind. The staff were welcoming, the rooms were clean and comfortable and the atmosphere was simply refreshing. I would definitely recommend this resort to anyone visiting Kanchanaburi and would love to come back again!
