The hotel is great for golfers, with a 9‑hole course on site and an 18‑hole nearby, and the unlimited golf rates are attractive. The food was mostly good and nicely plated, though it didn’t match the level from seven years ago when we last stayed. Breakfast was acceptable, and the dining room had a pleasant atmosphere, though the frequent loud laughter of one waiter was a bit distracting. The wellness area is varied and spacious for those who enjoy the nude section, but the indoor pool is small and was crowded with playing children when we visited; a swimming pool would still be desirable. The mattress was hard (even the topper was quite firm), and there were many broken ceramic tiles in the bathroom of our Suite at the Schlösslhof, the sink surface was peeling, and the makeup mirror was wobbly. What should have been included at this price is a kettle with tea bags and a Nespresso machine with capsules; the room didn’t even offer fresh water daily, which was disappointing. The balcony plants looked sad—completely withered and neglected for weeks. I was also upset about a massage I booked: after much back‑and‑forth, a slot was set for Saturday at 4 p.m., which both my husband and I heard. When I arrived, the front desk said the massage was on Friday and that I’d missed it; the receptionist didn’t even consider that a mistake might have been made. We were told we had misunderstood, which is unacceptable. I paid 90 € for something that was essentially a wash. Perhaps the staff should start using appointment cards in the future. What is written in black and white is binding.
