Lynster House

We stayed at Lynster House and it was fantastic—beautiful gardens, stunning scenery, and fascinating artwork that added unique charm. Our room was lovely and the beds were incredibly comfortable after a busy day. Elizabeth welcomed us warmly, shared interesting stories about her travels, and was very helpful and accommodating. Breakfast was homemade and delicious, especially after a wedding at Castle Leslie nearby; she even let us have a later breakfast so we could sleep in a bit after the celebrations. Overall we felt welcome and well cared for and would love to return. There was absolutely nothing to criticize; everything from the house to the surroundings to the comfortable room and Elizabeth’s hospitality was perfect, and we just wish we could have stayed longer.

“Only the faithful live here”

My friend and I arrived exhausted after a long trip and found this guest house bright, airy, and full of eclectic photos and paintings that made it feel lived-in. Elizabeth attended to every need, and we slept in a spacious, immaculate king‑size bedroom. The only minor issue was a local TV program called “the traitors,” which Elizabeth made available in the cozy green living room. Breakfast the next morning was superb—smoothies, luscious porridge, local‑sourced full breakfast, French toast with spinach, cheese, homemade pesto, and tomato, plus homemade brown bread with marmalade. We left the bright breakfast room overlooking the garden, ready to stroll around Glaslough and Castle Leslie. There was nothing we didn’t like.

Breakfast was gorgeous, offering a wide variety of home‑cooked local produce in a beautiful setting. Elizabeth is a super host who shares great local tips. The location is a bit out of town, but a good taxi service with reasonable rates is available.

Liz is the perfect host, clearly she loves people. I was attending a wedding at Leslie Castle and this lovely B&B was the ideal spot. Breakfast had many healthy options, and the beds were very comfortable. If you need transportation around the area, Liz will drive you without any trouble. The garden is lovely too. Ask her for the best pint in town—she knows it! Thanks again, Daniel

We stayed at Lynster House while attending a wedding at Castle Leslie. Elizabeth was the most wonderful and welcoming host from start to finish; we couldn't have asked for more. She gave us recommendations for a spot to stop for the best local pint of Guinness on the way to Castle Leslie, and she cooked us an amazing breakfast the next morning. I couldn't recommend this B&B more; we would love to visit again! I wish we could have stayed longer!
