“The accommodation did not match the description”
The location was good and well-located for exploring the surrounding area. Rating: 3/10 – The photos and the actual experience do not match. Unfortunately, our stay at Golden Mile B&B did not match the way the property is presented . The biggest disappointment was the breakfast. The listing shows photos of a rich buffet with different types of pastries, bread, cereals, cheese, cold cuts and a toaster, as well as a nicely arranged breakfast room inside the property. In reality, the kitchen was locked throughout our entire stay, we had no access to this area, and we could not even get hot water for tea. Every morning, breakfast consisted of only one croissant and one coffee at a nearby café. The photos give the impression that the breakfast room is part of the guest experience, but this was not our experience. Another serious problem was the hygiene on the terrace. Throughout our stay, cats were freely walking on the tables and chairs where guests sit and have breakfast. We noticed that they had fleas, and nobody removed them or took any action to address the situation. Our room initially had only two plastic cups. We received additional cups only after we complained. The lady responsible for cleaning the rooms was polite and helpful. When I asked her if I could have some hot water for tea, she informed one of the co-owners. I had never met this co-owner during our stay. She then contacted me by message and referred me to the information on the listing and the property's rules, rather than offering a simple practical solution for a guest. The photo gallery also includes a Traveller Review Award showing a rating of 9.3 from 2021, while the property's current rating is 8.1. I understand that the award is historical, but its presentation, together with the breakfast photos, creates expectations that were very different from our actual experience. I am writing this review so that future guests can have a realistic picture of what to expect
Even though the accommodation is on a noisy street, we slept well because the windows were closed and nothing could be heard. Our triple room faced the terrace. Rooms were clean and tidied daily. The air‑conditioning and fridge worked properly. The terrace was nice for evening gatherings with friends. The place is good for short stays. The train station is about a 15‑minute walk. Price‑quality ratio is appropriate. In the basement under the accommodation there is a small machine shop, and from the morning a cooling emulsion can be smelled. On the terrace, which is good for evening gatherings, broken chairs and some flower pots with beautiful succulents need to be replaced. Breakfast is at a bakery and café nearby where you can choose a croissant and coffee each day. I would definitely remove the breakfast buffet photo from the site because it is misleading and guests are disappointed to find only a croissant, which is otherwise excellent with coffee.

The outdoor space is very welcoming. The room is well furnished and spacious. The excavations of Ercolano are reachable on foot in 10 minutes. The room is quite noisy because it is on the main road. Also, it was very difficult to take a shower because the water could not be mixed; it was either boiling or the boiler would shut off, leaving the water cold.
