The location is terrible. Near the port and dirt, the beach is very far. I had to cancel my stay.

I stumbled upon this gorgeous home and met some truly wonderful people. The ground‑floor “room” is actually a lovely house with a spacious living‑dining area that has a fan, a kitchen you can cook in, a big cozy bedroom complete with a mosquito net and fan, and a cute bathroom. Even the bedroom has WiFi! The harbor view adds to the charm, with colorful fishing ships everywhere. Everything feels spotless and quiet, punctuated only by the natural sounds of birds, squirrels, kids playing, and women chatting. It feels like staying at a family’s seaside house. Tusare and Chinta are amazing hosts; every morning and evening we sit with Chinta and her mother Lata on the first floor in their open kitchen and chat about everything. Chinta’s brother is a fisherman and Chinta cooks excellently. The location is great—just a 10‑minute walk to Secret Beach and another 15 minutes to the heart of Mirissa. If you want an authentic Sri Lankan experience and to truly meet the locals, even in a touristy spot like Mirissa, you should definitely stay here.

The balcony offers a fantastic view of the harbor. The house is tucked away from the main street and away from the crowds of tourists. The family is super nice and welcoming, and the local food on the menu is great.

We chose the deluxe double room with sea view, terrace, private bathroom, and kitchen access, but we ended up not staying the two nights we booked and found another place. Instead, we were assigned a standard room where the tiny window on the lower level faced a dirt wall and water tank. The entrance to the room functioned as a terrace, and the son jokingly said there was a view from there. We had selected this room based on photos that showed a large window where we expected a cool evening and night breeze.

The people were kind, the location close to the main beaches with a nice view of the port, and the basic equipment was more than sufficient for the price.
