“Fantastic location, let down by poor hotel standards and even worse customer service.”
The location was excellent—close to the beach, shops and restaurants, and there were plenty of friendly cats around. The hotel itself fell short. Housekeeping was bad; towels were supposed to be changed every two days and bedding every three, yet by Friday after checking in on Monday, nothing had been changed, so we had to ask for fresh ones. Cleaning was minimal, the bathroom wasn’t fully cleaned, the mattress was thin and uncomfortable, the AC barely reached the bedroom, and the pool was filthy with many dead insects. Breakfast was repetitive over the seven nights. Loud music from nearby hotels played on several evenings, and the reception confirmed it was a regular thing. Beach loungers cost an extra €12 even though the hotel is beachfront. The biggest let‑down was how the hotel handled our complaint. After an 8‑hour power outage from 6 pm to 2 am on 16 September, I asked for a goodwill gesture while still staying there; my request was ignored. When I followed up after leaving, the hotel falsely claimed I hadn’t complained during my stay, even though I had written evidence. They eventually admitted the mistake but still refused compensation. The hotel’s customer service stepped in and offered compensation, but the hotel offered nothing. Overall, a great location ruined by poor housekeeping, uncomfortable facilities and disappointing service.
