“Appropriate name - Beautiful Edge of the World”
Kurt was the ultimate tour guide, offering daily tips and supplying everything needed for our adventures—coolers, ice packs, beach chairs, snorkeling gear, and more. Kana cooked spectacular meals; over our 8‑day stay, we never repeated a menu. Homemade banana bread, macadamia pancakes, avocado baguettes, various omelets, tropical fruit, and delicious Kona coffee—everything sourced from their own property. The drive to their house feels like a jungle trek, complete with pigs, chickens, a donkey, and a horse as neighbors. "The Edge of the World" lives up to its name; the view is stunning, and frogs, birds, and geckos enrich the experience. We stayed during a very hot week, and without air conditioning the interior was quite warm, but a fan blowing in fresh air helped, and the lanai was a great spot to cool off in the evenings. In Hawaiʻi, an outdoor experience is the norm.
