Good price and location. The stairs are a bit dark at night unless you flip the switch.

The rooms are beautiful in a finely restored old building with spectacular views over the Tuscan countryside. There are plenty of little extras and a shared kitchen area. The location is brilliant, just a short walk from one of the main car parks right next to the town’s main entrance (15 euros for overnight parking). Getting into the building wasn’t the most obvious thing, but once I called the number on the door we received instructions. A message might have been more reassuring!

I landed at the hotel and found no one at the front desk; I had to track them down to check in, and they asked me to pay taxes, which meant I had to go elsewhere to settle that, a real hassle. The place feels a bit dim and lacks ventilation, but the rooms are comfy and the location is good.

The front desk was cut back on—no one was there when I arrived, so I had to call to get into my room, and none of that was mentioned before I booked.
