“Eher 4- statt 5-Sterne-Hotel in absolut schönster Umgebung”
The scenery and view were incredible—never seen a more beautiful beach and sea. The garden was vast, well‑maintained, and artistically adorned; the atmosphere was calm and friendly, with no animators or constant loud music. The food was mostly tasty and carefully presented, and the bar offered expensive yet high‑quality cocktails, no premixed drinks. Free drinks (water, juice) kept us hydrated, and complimentary sunscreen and insect spray were handy. The hotel itself was nice: a great building, tasteful rooms, a lovely garden with private pools, excellent beach facilities (towels, loungers, snorkeling and kayaking gear), and very friendly staff. The concierge service was efficient and helpful, even arranging a doctor’s appointment quickly. However, compared to other hotels we visited, this place feels more like a 4‑star than a 5‑star. The price‑performance ratio is disappointing: the restaurant and drinks are excessively pricey but not premium (five small chicken tandoori pieces with a bit of veg cost over 30 EUR; burgers over 20 EUR but only average taste; only three pizza options that taste more like frozen pizza). The menu for non‑meat eaters is very limited—by day 3 we had to order the same dishes due to lack of variety. Breakfast was decent but far from 5‑star quality; there was no oatmeal selection and the rest was standard. For a 5‑star price level, I expected a higher standard, but the toilet was in poor condition, service was sluggish (minibar refills and restaurant service delayed), only three of four beach chairs had cushions, and some amenities were outdated or poorly maintained (the ping‑pong table was basically an old wooden board that’s hard to play on, the paddles were worn out).
