The Riad was beautifully restored, steeped in history and intimate, with a lot of effort on the decor and flawless restoration, feeling like a home stay. The street around the Riad is filthy; cleaning the stairs and fixing the nearby gate would give direct road/parking access and cut 15 minutes of travel time.

The Riad was pure Moroccan style, yet very elegant and spotless. The room was spacious with a notable bathroom, breakfast was excellent, and you could dine in the hotel with top‑quality food. The staff couldn’t accommodate our payment preferences for dinner.

The spot was a bit tucked away in the old Medina, which is great for safety and still close enough. Dar Roumana has a striking look. We would have liked a fridge in the room, even if it meant hiding it in one of the original tables.

The restaurant was fantastic and I’d definitely recommend eating there. The spot is ideal, close to the souks but not so close that it’s noisy. The air‑con worked well in such a large room, which mattered in summer. The shower was big and a nice touch. Breakfast, however, was our least favorite of the four places we stayed in Morocco because it was mainly supermarket items. The roof terrace offers an amazing view but isn’t the most relaxing or comfortable spot to spend a lot of time. The room was beautiful but not very finished; light pours in from arched windows without covers, and doors on both sides make it feel like a corridor, so it wasn’t relaxing. With the restaurant at the center of the Dar and that being the view our room looked over, it felt like the accommodation was an afterthought and the restaurant the real star.
