“Pleasant pub stay”

The staff couldn’t have been nicer or friendlier, and our meal at the pub was delicious too. Our room was small but had everything we needed. It looked like it had recently had a new bathroom, which was very nice (the shower bracket didn’t hold up though); the room was clean. The mattress definitely needs replacing as it wasn’t very comfortable—the springs bent all over! Also, I got locked in our room and had to push the key under the door to my husband so he could let me out from the other side (he’d popped outside for a cigarette).

“Enjoyable stay in perfect location for the party we had come down for.”

The landlords were incredibly helpful, fixing any issues we ran into right away; I think their readiness to solve problems matters more than a flawless arrival. They stayed friendly all through our stay. Breakfast and dinner were fantastic—tasty and generous. The beds, however, could have been more comfortable; it's a common gamble with any booking, not just this place.

The dinner was lovely, and the staff were very helpful and pleasant. The room was located up steep stairs, which proved tough for an 80‑year‑old with arthritic legs.

“Perfect location, committed staff, basic facilities but clean and reasonably priced.”

The place was in a perfect spot close to the event; rooms were clean but basic. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the homemade pizza was really good. They were flexible enough to let us park our motorcycles under cover and out of sight. It was a bit noisy at night because the room was on a fairly busy road, the windows weren’t glazed, and the place could use a bit of renovation. The TV offered a good selection of channels but was glitchy, making it hard to watch shows, and we wished there was an option for a second key.
