The room was very comfortable and nice; we had the penthouse. The hotel sits in the jungle with lush vegetation, cenotes, and a beautiful river. There were many animals, which was very pleasant. The food and drinks were lacking.
“A beautiful all inclusive resort”
The hotel was stunning and the facilities were excellent, yet we couldn't reserve any restaurant for the whole trip even with just two people; the booking system needs fixing so everyone has a fair shot and no one monopolizes all the spots.
“Tranquilo pero un poco estresante.”
The restaurant El Templo was one of my favorites, especially the show while the food was prepared and the chef’s enthusiasm was incredible. The pool area was relaxed, and the activities they run made the water park a blast (even though they closed it on Sunday), but we didn’t have a good time. Walking through the jungle and seeing the little animals was beautiful. The customer service at check‑in was lacking; they didn’t give us time to exchange cash for tips at the restaurants, and when I asked the staff, they rudely said they didn’t know the Mexican currency (they had that cactus face). For night‑time restaurant reservations, we didn’t know we had to stay at least three nights to get access without trouble. One of the hosts kindly helped us approach other staff to see if there was availability, which we did. When we got to the restaurant “Los Lirios,” the manager told us we couldn’t get a table because everything was booked (which was understandable) and added that if a guest was late by more than 10 minutes after the reservation, the spot would be cancelled. That didn’t happen; we waited 2 hours while guests arrived 15 to 30 minutes late and still let them in, and even a foreign couple with no reservation was given priority. It was very annoying because from the start we should have been told no, so we wouldn’t waste time looking elsewhere. We then went to another restaurant that let us in, “El Riviera,” which was very tasty.
“Relajante”
The buffet and the activities were great, but the beach cleaning was awful—felt like chocolate with black water drainage.
Everything was fine overall, but there were no elevators and dinner reservations had to be made in advance.
