The place isn’t a 5‑star, but it really feels like a castle life. Breakfast is served in a stunning hall that’s well stocked, and coffee is available at any hour. We arrived via the Lewis Bridge, entering the courtyard with a gorgeous view of the castle. It’s a pity the drought hit the area because the park suffered a lot. We felt like real lords for a moment. The staff were helpful; Stéphanie even called us at noon on Thursday to tell us about hail and had Eggor open the garage doors so we could park our car safely. I should note she was on leave but still took time to think of us. The only downside was the timer on the upper‑floor rooms.

The scenery is beautiful and the castle is habitable and furnished.

We had a pleasant night with family in this castle. The room was very spacious and comfortable, and we especially liked being able to use the pool after the drive. I understand some comments, but keep in mind we’re staying in an old castle: you can’t expect the equipment and comfort of a modern hotel (though what’s offered is perfectly adequate). Today the gardens don’t look like the photos, but given the drought and water restrictions, that’s understandable. Huge thanks to the attentive staff who keep this historic place alive and maintained—it can’t be easy every day. A lovely family experience in a charming setting!
