We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this camp; Hassans camp was exactly what we wanted when searching for desert accommodation. We arrived without plans for the desert, and Hassan arranged camel treks and quad‑bike rides on short notice. He welcomed us into his home, where we dined with his lovely family. The only downside was that we were the sole guests throughout our stay.

I had a unique night in the desert away from Merzouga’s tourist crowds. The welcome was very friendly, the dinner delicious, and the place magical. You could sleep in the tent or under the stars, with real mattresses, amenities, and tidy décor. The setup was simple but impeccably clean. Thanks to Hassan, his family, and his brother Ibrahim who stayed with us the whole time. The ride is a 4x4 (about 30 minutes, extra cost), a dune drive that gives a few chills 😊 Bonus: the Berber shower (we loved it) and the dromedaries that visited us at night 😅 No complaints, everything was perfect!

The local accommodation was beautiful, quiet, and very far from other camps. The Berber tents were nice, and the homemade food – breakfast and dinner – was truly generous. The host Hassan was helpful and even played drums. The downside is the distance from the main dunes – at least 40 minutes on foot through the black desert before reaching them. Transport to the site is pricey – 20 euros per person, 40 for a couple. There’s no Wi‑Fi, and data reception is limited.

We enjoyed a warm welcome and the genuine hospitality. The food was incredibly tasty and plentiful, both dinner and breakfast! After eating and watching the sunset, we had a cozy evening with a campfire and live music, and our kids could join in and had a lot of fun dancing and playing instruments. We loved the authentic simplicity, though some guests might expect more from the bathroom facilities. Also remember that you need a 4x4 taxi to reach the site – that was arranged smoothly.
