It’s a really cool spot to stay, the location is amazing! Punakaiki is well worth a visit!!! Having the pub on site is great for late‑arriving travelers, and I don’t think there are any food stores nearby. The decor is cute, and the room is warm and comfortable.

The motel was very cozy and clean and close to all the facilities, but the bed was very soft and at times difficult for my elderly husband to get in and out of.

The staff at the tavern where we checked in were very good. Our room was spacious and clean, with perfect pillows and good mattresses. The shower was just a trickle; I could count the drops as they came out. Why was there plenty of pressure in the kitchen and bathroom taps but zero in the shower? Sort your showers out NZ. It was an embarrassing point with our overseas friends traveling with us.

The spot right by the beach is amazing, and I've stayed in the same tiny cottage a few times now. It’s roomy, comfy, and the ocean sounds are a treat.

I’m thrilled we chose this place; the staff were fantastic, the room was large, spotless, and cozy, and the little grassed yard with a fence was perfect for our tiny dog. The ocean noise right outside the room helped us drift to sleep. We’ll definitely return!
