We chose this hotel hoping for a massage bath and even paid extra for it, yet there is not a single massage tub available—so what they advertise is not offered. The room looked nice but was noisy and impossible to darken. They also don’t provide a picnic breakfast if you arrive at 5 am; at that price you should expect that service.

The location overlooking the city is great and the place has character. The breakfast is fine but could use a bit more thought; the Chinese breakfast is good but there was no fresh fruit, for example.

The guesthouse is excellent and sits on top of Lion’s Hill. We especially want to thank Sandy for her hospitality and warmth—she was always in touch on WeChat, helped us call a taxi, organized a mountain trip, and took us to a great local restaurant. Thank you very much! Nothing negative.

We had an incredible stay at Zen Garden. The hotel is beautiful, very comfortable, and impeccably clean, with a perfect location that offers stunning views of Lijiang. The staff were exceptionally welcoming and helpful throughout our stay, and they also gave us excellent restaurant recommendations. When our flight was cancelled, they were incredibly flexible in rearranging our stay and made everything stress‑free. They organized both airport pick‑up and drop‑off, and went out of their way to accommodate all our requests. A special thank you to Xiao Zhao and Sandy for making our stay even more memorable! We would absolutely recommend this hotel and would love to come back for another dream stay in Lijiang.
