The location was special, the accommodation comfortable, and the care excellent. However, there was little to do nearby, and you had to leave the village for a bite to eat.

The property sits in the residential area of a former church, and the visible ceiling beams give off a pleasant, cozy vibe. As a B&B it doesn’t have a fully equipped kitchen, but it offers everything else you need on holiday: Wi‑Fi, TV, radio, microwave, kettle for coffee/tea, fridge, dishes, etc. We didn’t miss a full kitchen – after all, vacation is a good reason to skip cooking and chores. The lavish, delicious breakfast can be ordered the day before from the friendly, helpful hosts, and we felt very welcome. Free parking and two Type 2 charging points are located side‑by‑side beside the church. Twisk is surrounded by green scenery with many willow meadows and partly tree‑lined canals. The residents of Twisk are relaxed, friendly, and considerate. Restaurants (also called “eetcafé”) and shops are in the nearby larger town of Medemblik. Worthwhile day trips include Hoorn, Enkhuizen, Alkmaar, Haarlem, or even Amsterdam. A nostalgic steam train runs once a day from Hoorn to Medemblik and back. We have no criticisms – “everything is good.”

The accommodation was arranged as a chapel, offering a unique experience. The host was very friendly and positive. The breakfast room’s table layout and ambience were very enjoyable. It provides a peaceful stay in a quiet area.
