The Abbey Hotel, Battle, is a Grade II listed hotel situated in the heart of Battle, opposite the historic 1066 Battle of Hastings site. This hotel features free Optic WiFi and a restaurant serving locally sourced produce and local ales.

The hotel is fantastic, the location is great, the staff are friendly, and the food is good.

The hotel sits directly opposite the Abbey, which is great, but it feels too pricey because the rooms are basically above a pub. The young man who handled our check‑in was fantastic, yet several other staff members seemed annoyed with guests in general. The room had many items, but there was no water or fridge, which is disappointing for the rate.

The room was very comfortable and the food was good, but the stairs might be an issue for people with mobility problems.

The location was spot on and the rooms were comfortable. I had to move my car before 8 am because parking restrictions kicked in outside the hotel, so I had to find another spot before breakfast. Even though the staff said soya milk would be available, none was offered at breakfast, so I missed my morning coffee. Vegan options were there. The building is old, so I could hear neighbors talking and snoring, which disturbed my daughter’s sleep, but I slept fine.
