Friendly staff , the food was delicious, especially the 20 oz steak , breakfast too. Very noisy road , lorries going by from 4.30 am , the two single beds were very uncomfortable to sleep in , the shower was just a dribble , noise also from the bar

The pub felt genuine, not like the generic modern gastro pubs, with great food, friendly staff, and a clean, warm, cozy room; its location was ideal for visiting local sights and catching the Settle‑to‑Carlisle train, and both dinner and breakfast were hearty; parking was plentiful, prices reasonable, and overall a fantastic stay I’d recommend.
