“A VERY BAD INITIAL EXPERIENCE!”
I booked a room for three people with three beds, but when I arrived the staff told me they had upgraded my reservation—an action taken in June—and that I would be staying in a nearby apartment instead. I never requested this change, so I was very upset. After being moved into the room I originally booked the next morning, the start of my short stay in Venice felt terrible, almost like an abuse. About two weeks before my trip I received an email offering an upgrade at a distant location; I clearly replied that I did not want it, yet the hotel still acted unreliably. I sympathise with the reception lady, who likely had little control and had to handle my complaints. She offered me a free breakfast the following morning, which I declined. Aside from this, the stay itself was fine, as I had stayed at the hotel two or three times before.
