Great location for touring west Atlantic way and visiting the Burren.
The room was spotless & I asked for ground floor as I am on crutches and that was accommodated.
Room was very comfortable and clean
Staff were really on top of things - Aaron was particularly helpful and efficient.

“Disappointing stay”
The location was excellent – Ballyvaughan is a beautiful area. The hotel room we were given was in dire need of an upgrade: there were numerous stains on the carpet, the timber paneling in the bathroom showed rot, and the vanity unit was badly repaired. The biggest issue was that the shower temperature could not be regulated and was dangerously hot. When we checked out we brought this to the receptionist’s attention but received no satisfaction. In our opinion this hotel was extremely overpriced, charging €185 per night not including breakfast.
“We won’t be back and we won’t be recommending the Hyland’s Burren Hotel to family or friends.”
Checking out. Hotel was shoddy-on making our way to our room, there was a door which was warped or damaged and could not fully close-this is an external door, meaning anything or anyone could access the hotel. The bedroom’s window is in need of replacement, flaking and broken in parts. Inadequate lighting in the bedroom which was cramped. There is no indication that there is no elevator in this property yet there are rooms on the third floor which required a significant walk and climb of 6 sets of stairs. We are a couple in our senior years and were significantly discommoded by this. The staff were impersonal. There was no sense of welcome or assistance
The staff were excellent, the food was tasty, and the entertainment that night was fantastic. The bedrooms aren’t very modern, but they look exactly as shown in the photos, so there were no real faults.
We loved everything, especially the music in the bar. It was so relaxing and homely, especially with the views of the Burren. I would highly recommend this hotel if you want peace and quiet. So relaxing 😌 Nothing. We hope to come back again soon.
The location was great and the staff were lovely. The bed and bathroom were very clean and comfortable, so we’d come back. The carpet in our room had bad stains and the stairs need an update.
