The rural setting is lovely, the room is spacious and the bed very comfortable. The host was very helpful and refilled our flask so we could brew coffee in the morning since we didn’t need breakfast. Unfortunately, we booked for a meal day when the restaurant was closed, and there was nowhere else nearby. Luckily the hotel had confirmed in advance that the restaurant would not be open, so we brought our own food.

The room was clean, but the hotel claimed to be on the Camino, which caused us to get lost in the rain. I tried to cancel because we couldn’t find it, and we had to walk back a mile off the Camino. When we finally arrived, the clerk told me “you could still cancel.” We were already there and it was raining. There was no place to warm food or even buy food or snacks, and the restaurant was closed. The check‑in clerk was unfriendly and offered no suggestions for a snack or coffee, and he even pretended to be nice. It felt like we were a nuisance to him.

It was a quiet place with plenty of character. The only downside was that the restaurant was closed, which we really wanted to use.
