A person who seemed to be a helper but not a staff member was kind and helpful. The coin‑laundry was listed, but when I actually went to check it was missing.

Nothing special. The price was too high, the walls were thin so I could hear every conversation in the neighboring room, everything inside was unhygienic, and I question the review ratings at all.

The innkeeper was incredibly warm, even storing our luggage for us as we headed out to hike in Japan and acting like a local guide who helped us get to know Tsutaike, making us feel like we were staying at a far‑away friend’s home. I’d recommend it to anyone who needs a base for mountain or ski trips.

I liked the vibe around the hotel—so close to the ski fields and smack‑in‑the‑middle of the mountains, which made me feel relaxed. The staff were kind and shared useful info that helped me plan my next day, showing great hospitality and local guide skills. On the way to the hotel, I had to drive along a river from the north, about an hour from the highway interchange, and the road is tough. I had to leave the main lane for the last 10 minutes, which was a bit scary, so I’d advise against driving after sunset.

The staff were friendly, there was an ashtray outside and umbrellas available, and the parking lot was right in front, which was convenient. The only downside was that there was no refrigerator.
