The room was clean and lovely, overlooking the Kilkenny countryside and River Nore; the area is very walkable and quiet, and it’s easy to drive to Kilkenny. The owners helped with any issues we had. It’s attached to the main house, so construction was noisy on our first day. The Wi‑Fi was available but sluggish at 1‑4 Mbps, though 5G mobile coverage was fine. No hairdryer was provided, but the owners supplied one when asked. The advertised king‑size bed turned out to be a small double. There was no refrigerator, so we had to eat off‑site, and there was no kettle for morning drinks. I would have preferred local TV instead of Netflix. The room didn’t have a key, which would have been useful; the area is safe, but a key would have been nice.

The guest room with its own bathroom and access is in a family‑occupied house. The host welcomed us warmly, showed us the room, and was available on her phone for any questions. The room and bathroom were very clean and well maintained, with TV and Netflix available. Free parking is right outside the house. Without a car, the accommodation would be hard or impossible to reach. The bed is large but not king‑size. Wi‑Fi didn’t work at all for us. The location relative to Kilkenny isn’t bad, but you need 10‑15 minutes by car. All in all, it’s exactly what it’s supposed to be, in good quality, though I’m pointing out these issues at a high level.

The owners of this dreamlike estate are super friendly and considerate! The house is wonderfully quiet and idyllic just outside Kilkenny. Our room was lovingly furnished and clean. In the morning, the kind owners brought us coffee and biscuits.
