The front‑desk staff were welcoming and the room felt cozy; the location in a quiet part of Carmel was great. However, the Wi‑Fi was unreliable, and when I asked the desk about it, the manager claimed it was fine for everyone else and didn’t offer a solution, so I had to use my phone’s hotspot and the TV kept cutting out. The room was scorching, so I ran two fans and left the window open all day and night; when I requested a different room, the same man said he couldn’t accommodate me but did leave a third fan in the room. The breakfast basket was a little underwhelming, though I appreciated the idea of a small orange juice, banana, Activia yogurt, and a croissant.

I loved how close the hotel is to the beautiful Carmel area, the gorgeous courtyard with its spa and fireplaces was perfect for evenings, and the nightly wine and cheese from 4 – 6 pm were delightful. The grounds were beautiful and quiet, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The only downside was that the bed was too soft for the two of us.
