“very pleasant with a few upgrades and attention to detail needed.”
The views and location were amazing, and using the canoes on the dam was great. The waterfall hike was the highlight, and the dogs on the property are amazing with children and guided us to and from the waterfall. For the caravans, better utensils like a bowl for salads and a braai bak to put meat in would help, and a microwave in the communal lapa would also be useful. We didn’t receive any communication from the hosts about our check‑in, and on a late arrival we had no idea how to contact the host because there was no reception. We luckily found the Wi‑Fi passwords at the reception door, but the passwords were conflicting. A map of the property would also be helpful, as we struggled to find the dam and walked around aimlessly until someone gave us directions (the henhouse was closed). The use of the pool, which we were told was only accessible to cottage guests, is a bit off‑putting—if no one is using it, why isn’t it available to all guests, including those in the caravans? The caravan we booked was not adequate for two people; the bed, described as a double, was closer to a three‑quarter and more suitable for two children. The sheets need replacing.
