Fonnental Design Hotel Tallinn

The room was clean, but the photos advertised blackout curtains while I only had sheer/daylight curtains; the rail indicated night curtains had been removed. This left me with no privacy or adequate darkness for sleep. The description promised a safe, which was missing. When I raised these concerns with reception, they offered no solution or alternative and simply ignored the problems. The information and photos are misleading, and it’s hard to believe a hotel could provide a room without basic night or blackout curtains, even at a budget price.

The hotel is close to an amazing park and the Museum of Contemporary Art. The lobby is nice, but we skipped breakfast. From other reviews it seems better to walk to the café/restaurant in the morning, which we did. The air‑conditioner is extremely loud and cannot be turned off, ruining the vibe. Minor issues: the bathroom floor is cold; we were told there would be ironing facilities but none were available. The place isn’t very clean—dust on the windowsills and bedside tables, and the windows themselves are dirty.

I found a great deal here, especially since the hotel sits right next to Kadriorg Park—a spot many overlook when they stick to the Old Town. The on‑site café‑restaurant is a solid bonus. My room was clean and the bathroom felt quite roomy; the only thing that would have made it perfect was a fridge. The tram stops 1 and 3 are just 200 meters away.

“Wakacje”

The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The listing claimed there was an underground parking lot, but that was a complete lie! We ended up parking on the street under the hotel in a paid zone. We chose the hotel because of the supposed underground parking, so we were disappointed, and someone even scratched our door while we were there.
